Sold as a package. Delivered by the hour.

A runner’s monthly plan, an executive’s six-month engagement, a client’s twelve-session package. Each is a flat fee sized in coach hours only you know. Ceed keeps that number and holds the hour that would cross it.

The fee is flat. The hours are not.

A runner pays $150 a month for a plan with unlimited messaging. A sponsor pays $12,000 for twelve sessions, a 360 and three alignment meetings. The coach hours behind each are the firm’s own number. Nobody looks at it until the month is gone.

“Coaching isn’t just 8-10 1-hour sessions. … The actual time spent on 10 hours of coaching is likely 2-3x that for me.”

Ceed counts every coach hour against the plan, package or engagement it belongs to, as it is logged. The hour that would cross the count waits for your yes, that day. Which plans cost more than they pay shows, coach by coach, before the renewal. The sponsor hears about the thirteenth session from you, before it is delivered.

Every plan, package and engagement, every morning, nearest the line first. Visible to the owner and whoever she names.

Held. Not hidden.

The hour that would push a client over budget is saved, marked, and waits for a yes or no. Nothing is billed quietly. Nothing disappears.

One set of hours. Everything follows.

Unlimited messaging. Counted hours.

A monthly plan promises the athlete unlimited messaging and two check-ins a week. Behind it is the coach time you priced it with, and Ceed keeps that number per athlete. The plan that costs more than it pays shows itself before the renewal.

Twelve sessions in the letter. The thirteenth waits.

A six-month engagement is twelve sessions, a 360 and three alignment meetings, sold to a sponsor as one fee. The session or debrief that would cross the letter waits for your yes. The sponsor hears about it from you, and the invoice follows the letter.

Coaches paid from the same hours. Not from a second sheet.

An associate coach’s statement is computed from the same entries the invoice used, at their rate or their share of the fee. They see their athletes and their statement. They do not see your margin.

Do you sell your services as a flat monthly rate OR as a “package” of sessions. Over the last 20 years, I’ve done it both ways. The TLDR answer is - do both.

… For maybe 20-25% of your clients you’ll want to offer the option of packages. This is for those who travel a lot. They may not like the idea of paying a flat monthly fee which causes them to eat a lot of unused sessions.

… Pricing is generally lower for the flat monthly rate (perhaps based on $50-60/session) and priced higher for packages (perhaps $70-80/session).

If you’ve actually solved real problems, package your experience and spin up a coaching/consulting product.

This might be something simple, like 6 months or 6 sessions, with a fixed outcome and a fixed fee (e.g., $10k).

Most coaches I meet are wonderful people with great hearts. But sometimes, they end up working with the wrong clients. This hurts the coach, the client, and the entire field of coaching.

Of what you invoice. That is the pricing page.

Invoice $150 this month for Maya and Ceed costs 15 cents. A coaching business invoicing $60,000 a month, 400 athletes and a few engagements, pays $60. No seats for your coaches, no tiers, no minimum.

Questions. Answers.

We coach 400 runners on monthly plans with unlimited messaging. Is Ceed for a coaching business like that?

Yes. Each athlete is a client with a plan: the monthly fee and the coach hours you priced behind it. Coaches log their time against each athlete, and the hour that would cross a plan waits for your yes. Your training app and your payment processor stay where they are.

How does a coach with forty athletes log time without a timer?

One reminder a day, in Slack, with the hours left per athlete. The coach logs the day’s time against the athletes it went to. No timers, no screenshots, and every coach sees their own hours.

A sponsor buys twelve sessions, a 360 and three alignment meetings for one fee. How does Ceed count that?

The engagement letter is the agreement: the fee, the sessions and the hours you priced behind them. Sessions, debriefs and the 360 are logged against it. The one that would cross the letter waits for your yes, and the invoice is computed from the letter.

Our associate coaches are paid a share of each client’s fee, or per session. Can Ceed compute their statements?

Yes. An associate’s statement is computed from the same entries the invoice used, at their rate or their share of the fee. They see their clients and their statement. Rates and margin are visible to the people you name, enforced on the server.

Does a late cancellation or a no-show count as a session?

If your agreement says so, log it as a session with a note and it counts against the package like any other. The invoice follows the agreement.

Do athletes, coachees or sponsors see the hours?

No. They see what the agreement puts on the invoice: the flat plan, the package or the engagement fee. The hours are yours.

We have 400 athletes in our training app and their cards in Square. How do we start?

Sign up with your work Google account. Ceed Intelligence reads your client list, your coach roster and your agreements, and proposes the clients, plans and rates. You confirm each one. Nothing is on the record until you say yes.

We invoice $60,000 a month across athletes and engagements. Is 0.1% really $60?

Yes. $60. No seats for your coaches, no tiers, no minimum. A month you invoice nothing costs nothing.

From the blog: Held. Not hidden. They see the fee. You see the hours. The agreement said 40 hours. The month said 47. Other firms Ceed is for: Advisors · Fractional executives · Management consulting · all nineteen.
